Some people study the natural world from a distance. I’ve always preferred to get close \u2014 close enough to trace the suture lines of an ammonite, to freeze a hummingbird mid-flight, to stand inside a landscape and wait for the light to change. Born and based in Uruguay, I’ve spent years building a body of work that lives at the intersection of science and image-making.<\/p>\n

As a photographer, I specialize in nature: from the microscopic geometry of invertebrates to sweeping landscapes at the edge of dusk. My images have been featured in National Geographic<\/em>, scientific publications, and educational collaborations \u2014 and are shared regularly on Instagram, Flickr, and Facebook.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

My scientific life runs parallel and inseparable. Over the years I’ve assembled an extensive private malacological collection \u2014 thousands of gastropod specimens that have contributed to active research \u2014 including years of active participation in the Malacological Society of Uruguay. Beyond mollusks, my collections span Cephalopoda, Crustacea, vertebrate osteology, cacti, and succulents. Each specimen is both a scientific record and a small argument for paying attention.<\/p>\n

Travel is where both worlds converge. Expeditions take me to ecosystems I couldn’t otherwise access \u2014 and consistently remind me how much there is still to document, classify, and understand.<\/p>\n
