{"id":21884,"date":"2024-01-02T11:58:11","date_gmt":"2024-01-02T14:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gabrielpaladino.com\/?p=21884"},"modified":"2025-09-15T12:08:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T15:08:16","slug":"cuevas-de-ajuy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/pelecyphora.ddns.net:60123\/GabrielPaladino.com\/2024\/01\/02\/cuevas-de-ajuy\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuevas de Ajuy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53437715201_919dfaa827_k.jpg\" \/>\n<p>The Cuevas de Ajuy (Ajuy Caves) are located in the small village of Ajuy of about 150 inhabitants, and located about <b>9.5 km from P\u00e1jara<\/b> which is accessed by the <b>FV-621 road<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The <b>Natural Monument of Ajuy<\/b>, declared in 1987, has an area of 31.8 hectares and is located on the <b>west coast of Fuerteventura<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>It is included in the Betancuria Rural Park, one of the Protected Natural Areas of Fuerteventura. These natural caves that lava flows have formed in the cliffs, some of 40 meters high, are one of the tourist attractions of Ajuy.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tunnels of the Ajuy Caves<\/b>: at the bottom of the Ajuy caves you can see the remains of an unfinished tunnel.
