It\u2019s been almost a year since I took this photo. As cherry blossom season returns to Korea\u2014already underway in the south and just beginning elsewhere\u2014I\u2019ve been looking back at my shots from that trip and decided it was time to share this one.<\/p>\n

Cherry blossoms (\ubc9a\uaf43, beotkkot) are a beloved symbol of spring here, drawing crowds to iconic festivals in Jinhae (\uc9c4\ud574) or famous Seoul spots like Yeouido (\uc5ec\uc758\ub3c4) and Seokchon Lake (\uc11d\ucd0c\ud638\uc218). However, I captured this scene at Daewangam Park (\ub300\uc655\uc554\uacf5\uc6d0) in Ulsan. The park is known for cultivars like ‘Shirofugen’ and ‘Shogetsu,’ which stand out for the dense, layered petals seen in this shot.<\/p>\n

The blooming period is famously brief, which is part of its appeal, but it also puts time into perspective. It doesn\u2019t feel like much time has passed, yet a full year has already cycled through since this moment.<\/p>\n
